Cannabis Cultivation in your area!

Good morning Residents,

Your local policing team from Preston located a cannabis grow at an address on Henderson Street, Preston last week. This was following community information received and further enquiries will be conducted to try and locate persons responsible or involved with the cultivation. 

It is important to remember that cannabis cultivation leads to all sorts of problems: from the obvious fire safety risks (placing your neighbours' lives at risk if a fire breaks out) due to many premises by-passing the electrics and abstracting electricity, not paying for it and/or running off somebody else's supply. There are usually other crimes linked to the cultivations such as human trafficking, modern slavery and child criminal exploitation. From the outside you may just think that the individuals involved are growing cannabis but the activity itself leads to various strands of criminality which we are determined to disrupt and target those responsible. 

It is vital that you, the community keep an eye out for suspicious activity that may lead to us finding the next cannabis cultivation. These grows can happen anywhere and everywhere, from the house next door to a disused old industrial unit. Signs to be mindful of are regular comings and going from the location, unusual smells and covering of windows / vents.
